I enjoy intellectual pursuits involving multi-faceted issues. The challenge is almost always finding holistic possibilities. Typically, people have different views but there are usually common threads that place boundaries on the holistic possibilities. Most of what you learn in trying to write about holistic possibilities is what didn't work — what wouldn't write.
I also believe that each person can make a difference. Most ideas start out as a minority of one. You may get what you fight for. If you don't fight, you may get what someone else fights for. If nobody fights for anything, you get what others are willing to give, which usually isn't much. The only way to be certain of the outcome is not to try.
“Many people are willing to work for common benefits; many more are willing to let them.” . . . Rough “quotation” from Robert Frost; may not be precise.
"All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing." Edmund Burke. My variation is "Integrity is compromised when people who have the knowledge and capability to correct a problem refuse to act."
